Cherry Blossoms

The most popular and prettiest account of Spring would be Cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms festival is held around the East side where the tree that appears through the winter lifeless with just branches would begin to bear blooms and filled with just blooming flowers the exotic Cherry blossoms in different shades of white, Pink and rarely yellow.

We had the pleasure of heading to the Essex County Branch brook park during the week of April 19th – 20th at the peak time of the blooms. Finding our way to the Cherry blossoms section in the park was tricky and we headed the other direction first. We finally headed to an area I guess was called the “Cherry blossom demonstration area”.

It is a good idea to carry lot of snacks and food as there did not appear to be many food options available immediately surrounding the park. Ofcourse, we visited the place after the Blossom festival hence, there was not many vendors there. But, the blooms were just amazing and takes you to a flower land with pink petals for cushions. It is not an uncommon scene to see people wearing a crown/tiara made with branches of cherry blossoms. I just thought it would be nice that they hold on to it. Most of them doesn’t seem to and it is a waste to see the flowers thrown away or trodden upon after being photographed with the tiaras on.

A great place for a pleasant walk and to spend with family! Don’t forget to bring strollers for your kids as there could be a bit of walk involved…
