Per their website, The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park and is the only public road through the park. You can enter Shenandoah at four places: Front Royal near Rt. 66 and 340, Thornton Gap at Rt. 211, Swift Run Gap at Rt. 33, and Rockfish Gap at Rt. 64 and Rt. 250 (also the northern entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway). It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the park on a clear day.

Dark Hollow water falls -> Tip from a traveler : Don’t take the official route but ask for An easier route is to walk down the gravel Rose River Fire Road (a far more gradual grade) and then walk up to the falls. I even saw a bear on the fire road.

Best to use theCarbon County Municipal Lot behind the downtown train station. Parking is free after 5 PM!
If you are arriving in Jim Thorpe on209S from Stroudsburg, bear right through the light and in approximately 50 yards on your right, you'll see the lot entrance. If you are coming from903S, then cross the bridge and go left at the light. From Nesquehoning on209N just proceed straight through the light. In about 150 yards you'll see the lot on your left.some popular Stores -

- 5 and 10 stores on Broadway street
- keep lot of cash handy in advance as many stores will require a minimum purchase to pay by credit card.
- Keep coins handy for meter parking limited to 2 hours at the rail station
- wear comfortable shoes and think about a stroller if visiting with kids as there is a lot to walk about.
